Tomorrow is my last day with my adorable Kinders. I decided I want to take them a little something special. I was searching Pinterest for ideas and came across this one and I knew it was the winner:
There are a few things I liked about this: it wasn't a pencil my CT would have to sharpen (KInders love extra sharp pencils and they will mob you if they see you sharpening someone's pencil but not theirs), it wasn't food (I am extra cautious about snacks as there are sooo many food allergies out there), and it had a cute message. I really am going to miss them!
I went hunting for the krazy straws today. Dollar Tree had lovely red, white and blue straws that turned out to be perfect and easy on the checkbook at 6/$1. Side note: I FaceTimed by mom while I was at the Dollar Tree today to show her the Hawaiian decor they had. We are always on the lookout for party supplies for my brother's Hawaiian grad party. I think my mom is really having a fun time planning all the details. I must say I like to pitch in some too as a nice break from school work. Anyway, Dollar Tree had a ton of really neat Hawaiian decor. I called her to tell her about it, but she wanted to see it. So there in the entry way of Dollar Tree I was Facetiming my mom. I was trying to show her everything I thought we might need. One of the employees overheard my mom ask how much something was. Silly mom, it's the Dollar Tree. Everything's a dollar. We all had a good laugh.
I didn't see a good template online for the straws so I crafted my own. I'm really happy with how they turned out! Take a look for yourself:

I'm still getting over writing and answering to "Miss Gathman". Starting to feel like a real teacher now after hearing students call me that for a few weeks. So when does the pretty teacher handwriting kick in? Soon I hope.
If you have any questions or want the template to make your own, let me know. I'd be happy to share! That's all I have for now folks. I better get some sleep before seeing the energetic Kinders tomorrow.
